You are the Potter

This weekend I started out by creating the card above using the ODBD set called You Are the Potter. I have planned for this for years and was just waiting for the right stamp and time. The pots are stamped on "birch" bark and lightly colored with Copic Markers. Below is the inside of the card using one of the scripture verses and the stamp.

Stamps by: Our Daily Bread Designs-You Are The Potter
Ink: Memento Black and Rick Cocoa,
Paper: CTMH-Red Barn, Birch Bark
Accessories: Copic markers, Hemp

Thought for the Day: Because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world's corruption caused by human desires. In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God's promises 2 Peter 1:4-5

Chair for Me

Today's sample is in two parts. The cover of the card was created using the flower pot from a Flourishes set called "Chairs for You". I used CTMH cardstock for the base and the printed paper on front. Inside of the card I used the chair from the same set - stamped on CTMH paper and cut out image. Chair is embosed in Gold on the CTMH paper. I borrowed the lovely dog stamp (don't remember the stamp company) and stamped, colored with copics and cut him out and placed him on the chair.

Bible Verse for the day: May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, So that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

My son enjoys riding a motorcycle. So after much searching for a rubber stamp with a motorcycle I found this one at Clear Dollar Stamps. Used my copic markers to color in the image.

Thought for theDay: God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. Psalm 46:1

This is the card I made for John for Father's Day. The card was made using the new Flourishes set. The base card was CTMH cardstock and I used a sizzix embossing folder for the embossed designs.

Thought for the Day: Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the Godly to slip and fall. Psalm 55:22

Violets

This card was created using the Flourishes set "Violets". I used Copic markers to color in the flowers and leaves. Printed paper is by Basic Grey. Used nestabilities round circles, scallop circles, and 12" lace die.

Thought for the day: He leads the humble in doing right, teaching them his way. Psalm 25:9
Being humble means acknowledging your proper place before the Lord. When we worship him in humility, God will lead us and teach us the right way to live.

Flag

Today's post is a little different. I wanted to share something from Children's Church last sunday that has stuck with me this week. It was about finding Jesus in the flag. Here is a list of what I can remember.
Stars: represent the star announcing the birth of Jesus
Blue background: represents the sins of all people
Red: represents the blood Jesus shed for our sins
White: represents the forgiveness of our sins and the cleansing of those sins.
Stick or pole: represents the cross that Jesus died upon to forgive our sins.

I'm sure there are a couple of things I have forgotten but for now these are what I remember.

Foliage Frame

Several months ago I saw a card on a website and thought I would like to make one similar to it. This picture is my version of the card. The frame was made from tinfoil placed over cardstock for strength and then cut using Spellbinders Foliage Frame die cut. The scripture was stamped on clear transparency and attached to the frame. The frame was then pop dotted over Basic Grey paper. Ribbon was attached to the side.

Stamp: Unknown
Ink: Stazon Black
Spellbinders Foliage Frame
Paper: Basic Grey-Porcelain, Close To My Heart, Transparency
Accessories: Pink satin ribbon, paper flowers

Daily Devotional: Accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given the glory. Romans 15:7
Welcome everyone as Jesus would welcome them. It isn't a matter of searching for the best people to be around: it's a matter of bringing out the best in the people God has brought to you.

Red Bicycle

Today I want to share a card that uses the stamp Bicycle from Flower Soft. I added the rock wall behind the bicycle using the Copic Markers.

Stamp by: Flower Soft
Paper: Black-Stampin UP, Red, Classic Nenah Solar White, Basic Grey
Colored with Copic markers. In the future I will make a list of colors
Accessories: Flower Soft, Crystal Effects

John and I went for a drive after church today searching for a place to create a sceen to make a picture for my header bar. We found a beautiful Magnolia tree (location to remain a secret) and found ivy growing in the Burlington park. We made lots of pictures and will change out headers occasionally using some of these shots.

Todays Devotional: 1 John 2:3-4 This is how we are sure that we have come to know Him: by keeping his commands. The one who says, "I have come to know him," without keeping His commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
Once we understand who Jesus is and embrace Him as Lord and Savior, the Scriptures teach that we cannot live in sin and be at peace with God.

Up and Away

Ok, I've bitten the bullet and decided to start a blog. This will be a new experience for me and hopefully I can use this to share some of my artwork and ideas and links with my friends. The name for the blog came from some of my favorites things in nature. I'm a big fan of Magnolia blossoms and flowing rivers of Ivy. I have decorated my living room with a flower arrangement of Magnolia's. Also I have a picture I painted several years ago with a large Magnolia blossom.
