Stampin Sisters Christmas Party 09

The above card is one of the cards I created for Christmas this year. I made 22 of these. The theme was about pineapples as I included a Pineapple Bookmark in each card. Merry Christmas.

Sunday night a group of friends that have been together for the last 10 years meet to celebrate our annual Christmas party. Out of 15 we actually had 10 able to attend this year. Below are some of the pictures from the party.

We Three Kings

Today is Thanksgiving and I have so many things that I'm thankful for. God is so good to us. I'm thankful for God's salvation, my wonderful husband, my family, my job and all my wonderful friends.

Today's post is about a promised messiah. Each of us are like the three kings searching for Christ in our lives. This stamp set is from the Our Daily Bread Designs collection.

God Bless.

Thank you and Christmas Post

This card is for a project I was asked to help with. The stamp I've had for at least 10 years and was needing some loving care. This stamp is from Magenta. We will be making @40 of these cards for a church library. We will be adding a few pages to the inside for the Thank You to donors. There are so many possibilities that this stamp could be used for.

I love Winter scenes and this card makes me think of a cold winter evening. Tree stamps are by IO and the deer I believe is from a CTMH winter set.

The first two images are digital images from Angels Landing. The Christmas Cards were done using the new Cuttlebug Folders that were available through HSN this week.
Enjoy and God Bless.

Oak Leaf

I spent the afternoon yesterday working with the ladies in my church to make Get Well cards for the sick in our church. It is rewarding for me to be able to give back to God and share the talents he has given me with others. I hope these cards will be a blessing to the people who receive the cards. Several weeks ago we did @20 cards for the men/women who are in the military. We wanted to send them to the men and women on our pray list. I finally received addresses for 5 of them yesterday and 2 more will be available next week. Hopefully these will get mailed next week. If you are readying this email and have an address that you want us to send a thank you card to from our church please send me an email to magnoliaandivy@gmail.com

The cards today are ones I worked on last week and wanted to share.

These two picture didn't come out very well because of a glare from the camera but they are really nice in person. The one below used a CTMH set called Give Thanks. I created these using the Zindorf technique.

Give Thanks

I am posting a few more of the cards I worked on this weekend. This stamp is from CTMH set Give Thanks. I again used cardstock from Basic Grey-Eerie collections. This scripture is the theme for the new blog by StampinSistersInChrist. I used MS to create the scripture passage using various fonts.

The card below was made using the Just Rite Stamper Autumn collection. The ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.

Our scripture from Sunday School this morning was found in Jonah 1:1-3 as we know Jonah ran from doing God's will and there was a cost of disobeying God. Obeying God sometimes requires a major adjustment in our lifestyles and we are prone to ignore the urging of the Holy Spirit. Even though Jonah rebelled he discovered that it did not disqualify him from being used by God. We can have comfort in knowing that God loves us and will lead us back to him when we make wrong choices. Have a great week.

A Season of Gratitude

I have been very busy creating some cards for fall. I want to start off by sharing this one using Close To My Heart stamps. I stamped everything on Copic paper and embossed the saying and and Horn of Plenty with clear embossing poweder. I used SU-artichoke ink and versa fine black ink pad. The paper behind the image is from the new Basic Grey line for fall called Errie. I love this new paper. I won a few sheets last week and so I wanted to start using it. The horn of plenty was colored in using Copic markers.

The next card I am going to share is using Just Rite stamps from their Autumn Blessings collection. I just love this collection. I will have another ready for tomorrow's post. Happy Stamping.
I am participating in a fun challenge by a new blog that started up recently called "StampinsistersinChrist. This weeks challenge was to post cards with a food or drink theme. I participated with the strawberry cards I had done earlier. If you would like to visit this site I have added a Blinky on the side bar for their website. The scripture for this challenge is found in John 6:35. "I am the bread of life....... more to come on this tomorrow.

God Bless and Have a Great Day!

Wedding Card-Carolina Blue

This card was made this weekend for our pastor's daughter's shower next week. Her colors were Carolina Blue and Brown. I have used StampinUp Bashful Blue cardstock for the base, CTMH Cocoa. The stamp I picked up at the Dollar Store. I colored in the small flowers with water color markers and then added clear glue to the top and diamond dust over the glue. Looks pretty good up close just doesn't show up well in the photograph.

Thought for the day: Now these three remain: Faith, Hope, and Love, But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13

Strawberries

OK, I love strawberries and today's post has me craving the red lucious sweet fruit. When we lived in SC we had a friend that had a strawberry farm and each summer I would help them sell and pick strawberries.

This is July's release from Flourishes - Strawberries. The card base is on Chocolate brown layered with White cardstock, punched by Martha Stewart punch, one layer was embossed with the cuttlebug swiss dot folder. I used Spellbinders - Petite Circle and Scalloped Circle to mount the image.

Several weeks ago a few of my friends and I visited a stamp convention and discovered a company called Heartfelt Creations. They had a sample of their image of strawberries and I just had to have it. I've followed basically their sketch but used colors that I had.
All images are colored using the Copic markers.

Ok, do I have you drooling for strawberries. Note these are the first cards I have ever done sewing on. Wasn't that hard on my normal sewing machine, can't seem to get the little sewing machines to work as well.

Riding Bike - Angel by Me & Carrie Lou

This image is by Sara Kay. Doesn't this remind you of riding your bike when we were young. Frame is cut by nestabilities and colored with Copic Markers.

Today's image is by Me & Carrie Lou. I've had this stamp for ages and have always loved it. She has been colored in using Copic markers. I'll post the colors I used later today. I found this lovely paper at the Enchanted Cottage in Lewisville, NC.

The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand. Psalm 3-23-24

Penney Black Patio & PSX

Today's card image is from Penney Black. I have used the flower soft product above the patio doors. This is one of 5 cards I made this past weekend.

This image is a PSX stamp. I used CTMH paper and a cuttlebug embossing folder at the bottom. This card stock is actually green even though the picture looks like it is a beige.
Check back later in the week for the rest of the cards made this week.

Romans 3:22 We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.

Had a great weekend visiting family last week. We got home this afternoon and I thought I would add this wonderful new image from Sara Kay. Image is colored in using Copics and background was sponged on. I used a Cuttlebug folder to emboss on the cardstock behind the Frame. This is a Spellbinders die cut frame. Flowers are from Michaels wedding section.

Winston-Salem Stamp Convention

This weekend I was able to attend the stamp convention in Winston-Salem. It was a great day getting to visit all the vendor booths and learn some new techniques. We made lots of purchases and I can hardly wait to play with all our new stuff.

The card today is one I had made several weeks ago when I was playing with tinfoil and dye inks. I also used the flower soft products to make the flowers. Paper is from CTMH, Martha Stewart punch along with rhinestones and prima flowers.

Sing to the Lord 2

Our Daily Bread Designs has the greatest stamps. This card is using the Sing to the Lord set. The bird is colored with Copic markers and cut out and pop dots used to create a 3-D effect. The base cardstock is from CTMH-Hollyhock.

Thought for the day. If you claim to be religious but don't control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. James 1:26 Our words show what kind of person we really are. Simply trying to control your words isn't enough. First you need a change of heart; then good, kind, and healing words will follow.

Flourishes Daffodil

Flourishes has the most wonderful botanical stamps. I'm using their Daffodil set for this Tri-fold card. I also used their set called Timeless Quotes. Base cardstock is SU-Artichoke, background paper is from Basic Grey. Image is colored in with of course Copic markers. I love this quote about Faith and how it relates to my life. I seem to always want to know how something is going to turn out before I want to invest time and energy into doing it. When I set out to make a card I can't predict always how it will turn out. I start and then experiment with different ways and looks before I declare it finished. So I must walk with faith that the end product will be ok.
Have a blessed day!

Friendship is the Wine of Life

Hello again everyone, today's card is in celebration of all my friends past and present and future. I just looked through my high school classmates list on the website that is set up for us to log in and connect with each other. It's amazing to me that we have such technology that we can connect from all parts of the world.
On with today's card. I have this stamp from long time ago. This is a stamp by PSX circa 1999. Yes, I have a lot of older stamps and plan to start using them more frequently. Design was stamped in Bamboo Memento Ink, colored with copic markers. Used crystal effects over the grapes, glass, and bottle of wine. Added a border at the bottom with a Martha Stewart punch and added a bow made from ribbon I found at Hobby Lobby and have fallen in love with. The ribbon is a blend of 55% polyester and 45%Nylon. Makes great bows. Cardstock is of course my favorite color green from CTMH-topiary.
I have also got an opportunity to start placing cards in a local shop here in town. I have prepared 12 cards to sell. Keep your fingers crossed.

God Bless everyone and have a great day!!
Sandra

Vines & Birds

Today's post is made using the Flourishes stamps set Birds and Vine and Timeless Quotes and Wordsworth Comfort Verse. I stamped the vines using Memento Bamboo ink and CTMH Hydrangea. I used Liquid Pearls on the Queen Ann's Lace. The cards below were made to send out to the sick people in our church.

My friend came by last week and asked for assistance and an idea to use for some cards she was making for a member of her church. I gave her some ideas and loaned her a few supplies and stamps to use. Below is her creation. The saying on the card is from the elderly church member who has been sending cards to her church members through out her life.

Col. 1:15-17 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation; because by Him everything was created, in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities - all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and by Him all things hold together.
